We see articles like this one from the BBC all the time, and sadly, we agree.
Any of you out there who have taken the time to read Ian Livingstone's report will find a very well written and reasoned case for raising the game of digital education in Britain.
The rationale behind the setup and the structure of the courses that you guys at PIXEL are a part of was exactly this, to provide industry-relevant education in the skills that game designers need. We "buy in" art units, we encourage use of technology blended with traditional art skills, and we constantly push the college to provide us with current and emerging technologies to keep you guys up do date; and we think we're doing it right.
